Kai Alter, PhD
is an internationally known researcher and lecturer who has published over 110 research papers in the field of cognitive neuroscience and auditory processing. Dr. Alter was appointed by the President of the Max-Planck Society as an Independent Research Group Leader and led the Neuro-cognition of Prosody Group at the Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences. There his research team applied methods such as EEG, MEG, and fMRI.
Dr. Alter is currently Senior Lecturer in Auditory Cognitive Neuroscience at Newcastle University. Formerly visiting Research Fellow at University of Oxford, Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics Language and Brain Laboratory, Dr. Kai Alter currently works in the area of Artificial Intelligence with the Austrian Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Vienna.
In 2017, Dr. Kai Alter was appointed as Research Associate at the Tuebingen University Hospital for Psychiatry. He is also an associate member of the Phonetics and Phonology Laboratory at the University Lisbon.
